About

# We work where the org chart stops helping.

ShanVic & Co. works on operational problems that are hard to see clearly from inside one department. We’ve watched companies prepare to replace software when the real issue was in the routines people had built around it. Elsewhere, an improvised fix had lasted long enough to become part of the operation, so changing the original process would have disrupted something the organisation had come to rely on.

## Why ShanVic exists

Our backgrounds span software, operations, management, service delivery, and business systems. Long before ShanVic existed, the same kinds of disconnects kept turning up in different settings.

One accessibility project started with what looked like a mapping issue. Following it properly meant getting into route authoring, transit data, user permissions, imported content, and the information someone needs while navigating from one place to another. No single piece explained what was going wrong.

We learned to trace those connections before deciding what kind of intervention the situation needed.

## Company size doesn’t set the boundary

A small company might have a critical process known almost entirely by one person. In an enterprise, fragility is more likely to be spread across systems and local procedures, with different teams each knowing part of the workaround.

What we need to know is where the strain is showing up and what keeps recreating it. An engagement might include an entire business or stay concentrated inside one operating area.

## We start with the explanation already in use

Before recommending anything, we test the organisation’s understanding against what is actually happening.

That might mean talking with the people directly involved, reading existing material, or checking the system record against day-to-day practice. We’ve seen expensive-looking situations turn out to hinge on a small technical mismatch, and ordinary complaints expose dependencies that had been treated as normal for a long time.

The Cubed Method™ gives us a consistent way to investigate without deciding the answer beforehand.

## Where our perspective comes from

ShanVic & Co. was founded by Shanneen Kirkpatrick and Noelle Lunt. We’re both neurodivergent, which is part of the history of how we learned to look at systems. We tend to notice recurring patterns, especially where exceptions keep forcing extra effort that never appears in the written process.

Over time, we began recording what we were noticing and testing those habits across different kinds of work. We wanted the method to be useful to people beyond us and open to challenge.

## The system should outlast our involvement

When we leave something behind, the team using it should be able to make decisions about it themselves. That means making the important parts visible and writing down exceptions before they turn into knowledge that lives only with the people who were there.

## Read the signals. Build the systems.
